Work History:
During my time at Purdue University I had the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals in the inpatient, outpatient, university clinic, ENT office, and school settings. I recently moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to continue my journey in becoming a certified speech-language pathologist and am currently completing my clinical fellowship year. Through these previous experiences, I have gained knowledge of treatment and diagnostic services for speech, language, early intervention, AAC users, literacy, voice, cognitive-communication, aphasia based treatment, and for swallowing disorders. I am passionate about providing evidence-based practices for all patients to address their needs. Additionally, as a bilingual clinician, I am so grateful for the opportunity to provide services for Spanish speakers and their families. I am excited to work with patients and families at Young Talkers to achieve their functional communication goals.
Specialized Training:
Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile
This was a self-studied course that provides a standardized and evidence-based resource to identify swallowing impairments in the adult population through the use of a modified barium swallow study. Through the standardization of this protocol, clinicians are able to provide accurate, specific, and consistent information on the results of a patient’s swallow function.
SPEAK OUT! Parkinson Voice Project
This was a self-studied course through the Parkinson Voice Project. It offers an evidence-based treatment approach for individuals with Parkinson’s to regain and retain swallowing function and various aspects of their speech as they learn to speak with intent.
Welcome to Young Talkers!
Our mission is to provide quality speech-language and feeding therapy services to the pediatric and adult population in order to enhance their verbal/non-verbal communication and feeding skills. We accomplish this by identifying concerns through specialized evaluations and the development of goals to meet the needs of the patient and the family.
